The purpose of OKC Pride is to promote and celebrate pride, diversity, equality, and community, primarily related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, in central Oklahoma. The mission of the organization is providing leadership to meet the needs of the LGBT community through awareness, health, and educational services. Our main contact info is:

President Kindt Steven Myers

Kindt Steven Myers was born and raised in Oklahoma.  He graduated Valedictorian with honors in Edmond, OK, and has made his home in Oklahoma City.  Kindt had his start in restaurants at a young age, and went on to become Director of Catering for A Good Egg Dining Group, whose portfolio includes RED Primesteak, Cheever’s Cafe, Cheever’s Catering & Events, Iron Starr Urban Barbecue, and RePUBlic Gastropub. From restaurants, Kindt moved into banquets and conference services management for Hilton, then Marcus Hotels, and, finally, W Dallas-Victory Hotel and Residences in Dallas, TX, and Chicago, IL.  His passion is special-event planning, with a focus on social events, such as galas, festivals and weddings. An active volunteer and civic leader, Kindt volunteers with many local organizations, including Paseo Artist Awards, Festival of the Arts and The Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He also serves on the advisory boards of The Culinary Institute of Platt College, The School of Culinary Arts at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, and deadCENTER Film Fesitval.  Kindt is President of the Board of OKC Pride, and State Director of the Oklahoma Wedding Network.  He is also an ordained minister.

  • Events
    The Events Committee organizes, promotes and facilitates OKC Pride events throughout the year.  Events can range from fundraisers to charities, from block parties to awareness activities, and everything in between.  The Events committee works closely with Fundraising and Education & Outreach Committees (among others) to coordinate functions needed by those groups.  Whether helping with a specific event or being involved year-round, volunteering with the Events committee is a great way to get, and stay, connected with the LGBT community in OKC!
  • Fundraising & Finance
    The Fundraising & Finance Committee explores ways to raise money for Pride activities that happen throughout the year.  Fundraising & Finance are closely tied to Events.  If you have experience in fundraising, or have community connections that you would like to volunteer for the Fundraising & Finance committee’s use, please let us know!
  • Parade
    The Parade Committee specifically focuses on planning and facilitating all aspects of the annual Pride Parade that occurs during the OKC Pride weekend in spring or early summer.  Communication, organization and a head for logistics are important here.  If you would like to help organize a great parade for the upcoming Pride Week, please send us an email or use the volunteer form to let us know!

Vice President Jeffrey Duncan

Jeffrey grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated Putnam City North High School in 1997.  He then join the United States Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii until 2002. During his time in the Navy he attended the University of Honolulu.  After his service Jeffrey moved to New York City and was a national make-up artist.  In 2010 Jeffrey moved back to Oklahoma City and has been working in the medical field since then.  Jeffrey is very active in several organizations and also with in the pageant world where he owns several state pageants with his best friend.  Jeffrey is very excited and looking forward to an amazing year.  He is very proud to serve this community as Vice President of OKC Pride.

  • Education & Outreach
    The Education & Outreach Committee partners with other local, national and global LGBT organizations to provide teen suicide prevention and anti-bullying education and resources to the OKC LGBT community.  In the coming year, this committee will work to connect OKC Pride with InterPride, the Trevor Project and the NoH8 Campaign.  If your passion lies in these areas and you would like to help with these projects, please get involved!
  • Entertainment
    The main objective of this committee is to secure entertainment for the annual Pride Week.  Volunteers on this committee get exposure to both local and national entertainers.  Tasks include hospitality, travel arrangements and accommodations, contracts and venue arrangements.  It’s a huge task, and we’d love to have your help!
  • Festival
    The Festival is one of the main centerpieces of the annual Pride Week festivities.  Organization and logistics are important here.  If you would like to help plan and organize this year’s Festival, drop us a line via email or the volunteer form!

Secretary Brandon Beard

Brandon Beard joined the OKC Pride Board of Directors in October 2013.  He has spent more than 20 years in the fields of communication and journalism.  He served former State Superintendent Sandy Garrett as her speech writer and press aide for several years, worked as a staff writer for the Oklahoma Gazette, freelanced for multiple local, national and international news organizations (including Agence France Presse) and was the owner and publisher of Loud Magazine.  Currently, Brandon works for a major telecommunications company.  He lives in Oklahoma City with his partner of eight years.

  • Membership
    The Membership Committee helps to organize and track OKC Pride membership, and makes an effort to grow our numbers through membership drives and promotions.  Our community is diverse, and helping with the Membership team allows for broader exposure to all our members’ great qualities, personalities and talents.  We would love to have you involved!
  • Public Relations & Communication
    The PR / Communication committee Communicates directly with the press and membership through a variety of mediums, including print, digital and broadcast.  The Communications Committee also own our Facebook, Twitter and web presence.  This committee aims to provide a consistent voice for the organization.  If you have writing skills or a background in media and would like to help in those areas, then this committee is for you!

Treasurer Blaine Moore

Blaine Moore grew up in southern Kansas and was a high school math teacher in south central and southwest Kansas for 15 years.  He moved to Oklahoma City in 1993 and worked for a tutoring center as a math instructor and then was promoted to director.  He bought the center in 2002 and continues to be active with that business.  Blaine is a member of the south Chamber where he is active with the education committee.  He is also active in his church having served as elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a leader in the Stephen Ministry program.  He and his partner, Hank, have been together for 22 years.  Blaine is pleased to be able to serve our community as treasurer of the Pride Board.
