Board Member Biographies

Kirk Martin, President

Kirk Martin has worked for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for nearly 20 years in a variety of challenging roles in marketing, research, information technology, economic development, workforce development, and community development. Kirk previously worked for both Lieutenant Governor Robert S. Kerr III and Governor David Walters.  This is his third year as a member of OKC Pride and his second year to serve as President.

John Gibbons, Vice President

John Gibbons has more than two decades of experience in the commercial and residential lending industry.  John currently serves as Oklahoma Division President of GSB Mortgage, Inc.  John also co-owns a local restaurant and club.  Gibbons has been a member of OKC Pride for three years and served on the Board for two years.

Steve Thompson, Secretary

Steve Thompson has served on the Executive Board of OKC Pride the last two years.  Steve has been a Pride member for three years.  Professionally Steve is assistant CEO of an organization that employs approximately 150 people. Steve has served in that capacity for ten years.

Charleen Scheffe, Treasurer

Charleen Scheffe has an extensive background in banking and accounting.  Charleen worked for Liberty National Bank & Founders Bank in Oklahoma City and with First Interstate Bank of California before getting into the spa industry.  Charleen was Operations Manager at Spa Gregorie’s in Newport Beach for eight years before returning to OKC in 2006.  Scheffe is currently the General Manager at Eden Salon & Spa where she oversees the daily operations of the business.  Charleen loves to bowl and has been a member of the local gay bowling league, The Tuesday Twisters, where she served as Vice President for two years.  Charleen loves her Sooners, Thunder and Anaheim Angels!  Charleen also serves as the Finance Committee chair.

Todd Clark

Todd Clark is the Associate Creative Director at Skyline Media Group.  With more than 22 years of experience in advertising, he brings a wide range of disciplines to OKC Pride and consistently produces award-winning work. Todd has worked on campaigns for Cox, Six Flags, PetsMart, Hobby Lobby, LeapFrog, and BlueLithium (acquired by Yahoo). Locally, he’s worked with the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, Oklahoma Tourism, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, Remington Park, Allied Arts, Lyric Theatre and recently directed some work for Cimarron Alliance. This is Todd’s second year on the board of directors for OKC Pride and his third year as the Marketing & PR Co-chair.  Todd is responsible for the new look of OKC Pride over the last few years as well as managing our web and social media. He is an accomplished designer, theatrical actor, a singer/musician, and the father of two aspiring artists.

John Dinsmore

John Dinsmore has more than 20 years of extensive management, mediation and sales experience, most recently in the Hospitality Industry.  For the past several years, John has served as Sales Manager for various Marriott and Sheraton hotels.

John’s responsibilities have included maintaining existing clients and developing new clients; working with client’s ideas to create successful Meetings, Events and Overnight Guestroom Blocks/Rates.  Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and General Manager, John has made meaningful contributions to the company’s current business strategies.  Prior to his work with Marriott, John spent time as a Travel Agent in San Jose, Costa Rica where he created world-class luxury vacations for British, Canadian and U.S. travelers.  John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and currently resides in Oklahoma City with his partner of nine years.

Hugh Doherty

Hugh Doherty is an Economic Development Director/Project Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.  Prior to that position he was the Lead Organizational Development Consultant for the Williams Companies.  His broad business experience as the Sales Director and Director of Training for an international consulting firm in Seattle took him nationwide working with local governments.  As an external consultant, he has facilitated strategic planning sessions, motivational seminars, and leadership and communication courses to the US Department of Labor, The National Association of Counties and the National Alliance of Business.  His work at the local level takes him all around the state to assist cities, educators and other community organizations who want to “Grow Oklahoma.” He has completed the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota.

Dan Hair


Dan Hair has been a regular performer and staple in the Oklahoma Gay Community for 40 years.  Dan’s primary motivation is to put smiles on people’s faces and be a positive person.  Dan is the Executive Director of the Miss Bricktown OKC Pageant, Miss Bricktown Outstanding Teen Pageant, Miss Metroplex Pageant and the Miss Metroplex Outstanding Teen Pageant.  Dan has worked with the Miss America Scholarship Pageant Organization for more than 36 years.  Additionally, Dan has secured more than $600,000 in scholarship in-kind waivers for young women.  Dan is the former owner of two businesses here in OKC and in Shawnee.

Dan has served on the OKC Pride Board and as Chairman of the OKC Pride Parade for the last two years.  Dan currently owns his own business, and resides here in OKC.

Matt Harney

Matt is the founder and co-owner of Harney Coster & Associates, a political and business consulting firm.  Harney Coster & Associates provides fundraising, direct mail, strategy and management, and website development consulting.  Before launching his company, Matt served as Executive Director for a statewide political action committee.  Matt is a member of Sierra Club, Stonewall Democrats, Marianne Vannatta Race with the Stars Committee, and the Mesta Park Social Committee.  Matt received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oklahoma City University.

David Smith

David Smith is an accomplished attorney in Oklahoma City.  David specializes in civil litigation, family, and DUI law.  David received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma and his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University.  David has been a member of OKC Pride for three years.  In his spare time, David enjoys attending softball games and studying the German language, culture, and history.
