Please join us in the 28th annual OKC Pride Parade on Sunday, June 26. The parade theme this year is “Free to Love”. We expect this to be the biggest Pride parade ever in the state of Oklahoma and it falls on the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision affirming Marriage Equality.
We encourage all supportive community organizations, businesses and individuals to show their support for equality in Oklahoma in the OKC Pride Parade. We encourage entrants to design and build great floats reflecting the theme. Prizes for the top three floats will include cash and a trophy. Our judges panel will review all entries 30-minutes prior to the start of the parade.
This year we are reaching out to youth and student groups with a special grant program to waive entry fees and/or assist with expenses. This is funded by your generous donations. Please consider adding an additional $25, $50 or $100 to your entry to help support these LGBTQ Youth organizations. If you are not entering the parade and would still like to donate to a Youth organization, please use this form and indicate in the comments that your donation is to go towards a Youth group parade entry fee. If you are a Youth organization that would like to participate in the parade, please fill out the form below (Select Youth Group Entry/Grant for the Parade entry field) and we will be in contact with you soon!
Parade lineup will begin at 4pm on southbound Classen between NW 48th and NW 39th. Each entry will be issued a number and corresponding block for lineup. All entries must be in place by 5pm for instructions and judges review. The parade will begin promptly at 6pm. Each entry must provide a contact/parade captain to be responsible for meeting with parade organizers about specific safety regulations.
We look forward to seeing our best OKC Pride parade and largest crowd ever in 2016. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Michael Clark at mclark1969@msn.com. Thank you!
